Who's Cool?

Douglas & Debrah From Roadside Recovery to the open Road

It was a very hot Saturday afternoon when I received
a 'Recovery' call from Debrah saying, we have broken down on the A1-M and our car has no oil or water, can you help
us? Of course, I went to see if I could get them back on their way to a family celebration in Cheshire.
Debrah
and Douglas are Brits who live in France and the Carabean as well as Cambridge when they are in the UK. Unfortunately, their
car broke down while travelling to a family event, it was a hot day and being stuck on the A1 is not a place you want to be
when fast traffic is passing you and no one stops to help.
It only took me 20 minutes to arrive with two cold cans
of Pepsi and oil & water to see if I could get them back on their journey, sadly, the car had taken its last journey.
We loaded it into my Recovery lorry and headed back to our garage to get the final word from our mechanic, sorry, but engine
seized.
After an hour in the phone book to hire a car to no avail, Douglas
said in his English Gents voice, "I like that Jaguar, we could buy that and drive off today". And after our mechanic
checked a few things over, we set off for a test drive to fill up with LPG Gas and Fuel and they 'Bought it!
Time was now getting on ~ 7.30 pm so they decided to drive back to their
home in Cambridge and visit their family on Sunday morning. You never know what could happen when you call for help,
sometimes you actually get it. And if you can't rent a car on a Saturday, sometimes it makes since to buy a Classic, it's
certainly a better investment.
We enjoyed a few hours with Debrah &
Douglas and hope they keep in touch when in the UK. Thank you for your call ~ We are always
here to help.

Tony, from Pevensey Bay in Sussex bought
his 2nd Cortina from me to restore to their former glory. The other car was a MK1 GT. He's a keen Classic enthusiast with
several Jaguars and Scooters at home. His garage is every mans wish list, full of bits & bobs. My day out to deliver the
Cortina was finished off perfectly with the best Fish & Chip dinner I have every tasted from the beech front restaurant
Tony runs with his business partner Lynn. If you ever go to Pevensey Bay near Eastbourne, you have to pop in for a warm
welcome and a piece of Cod second to none!

There's some Scooters in there somewhere

After visiting the Antique Centre next door,
Gwendolyn and Graham popped into our Showroom and fell in love with this lovely 27 year old 'one owner' Mercedes 230E.
After taking measurements, Graham called later in the day to book a test drive. I think
the car really suits them, they want a quality modern Classic to go to shows and use as an occasional Wedding Car so this
Mercedes will cover all.
The best part about this purchase is that it is a 40th Anniversary
present from Gwendolyn to Graham. What a great life memory. As they live locally, I get to see the car occasionally and and
they want to come on a run or two at out local Classic Car club.

Mark
travelled by train to buy this lovely original Princess VDP then drove it home to show his two boys who are 8
and 12 years old. Mark said they love Classic Cars, how good is that. He also said his wife gave her blessing ~ there
is a god... **********************************************

Nigel, a train driver from Rugby is pleased to be behine the wheel of this fine
Rover 3500 Auto.
Having previously owned a
P6, he wanted to get back in a V8 which will start the journey to work.

17 year old Tom from Suffolk sits proud in his
1st Car! How good is this, a teenager with taste. After a thorough inspection, Dad Tam said it's the one for them and
bought it for his son.
What a present, Tom's driving test was a couple
of weeks ahead so he had more to look forward to.
Xavier Courouble from France

Xavier Courouble from France pictured (Centre) drove over for the day with friends, Francois ~ Left and Thierry ~ Right, who
previously purchased a white MG Roadster from my partner Linda (House of Carriages).
These
guys are real enthusiasts of the British Sport cars and think nothing of driving over to view our stock. Now that Xavier
has purchased this 1972 Roadster, Linda and I are 1 all! We have been asked to look out for a possible third MG,
so lets see which of us can find another nice model? It needs to be 30 years old with chrome bumpers - If anyone has a nice
example for sale, call me.

At their first Rally ~ Sunday 21st March
